What is a Seed Bomb?

Little balls made from 100% Australian Clay and compost mixed hundreds of specially selected native seeds. They are then rolled and dried using a traditional methods, where they lay dormant waiting for the right conditions to burst into life.

How long does it take to see growth?

Germination will generally take 2 – 6 weeks but can be ongoing for some species. It also depends on growing conditions, rainfall and temperature.

Can you tell me about growing conditions?

We take a general approach and use plants that are suitable to the wide range of habitats. For example, most f our species are suitable for full sun or partial shade and they are water tolerant. The clay will protect the seed until conditions are right for germination also increasing the range of conditions that are suitable for planting. What will grow well in your conditions will thrive that’s the benefit and philosophy behind seed bombing. 

I have a small garden, can you recommend something?

We have several collections suitable for small gardens and patio pots. The Seed bombs for Native Pollinators, Everlasting Daisy Fields, Bush Tucker and Bushfire collections all work well in small gardens and patio pots.

Can I send to Western Australia?

Yes. However, there are biosecurity inspection fees. When your order is received we will endeavour discuss these with you. Due to restrictions our koala bombs are prohibited and will be replaced with a permitted species. 

Can I send to Tasmania?

Yes. We are an approved small seed importer into Tasmania. There are no biosecurity inspection fees for Tasmanian customers. Due to biosecurity restrictions Lemon-scented bottle brush and koala bombs are prohibited entry and will be replaced with approved species.  

Are your products vegan?

Yes! All our products are vegan, no worm casings etc.

Should I water my seed bombs?

If there is no consistent rainfall, just like any seed you should water your seedbombs until they have germinated and you feel the plant is established enough to with stand periods of low rainfall.

What are the benefits of seed bombing?

Seed bombs are full of potential wrapped up in a pocket-sized ball! Full of native seed, they turn often forgotten about landscape areas into useful and beautiful native gardens. Providing food and shelter for many Australian birds, pollinators and other wildlife. 

How much is postage and how long will it take?

We offer a flat rate of $6.95 for all Australian orders under $100. And FREE postage on all orders over $100. 

We offer express delivery for $12.95.

We use An post for all postage and delivery times vary, but are usually within 2-10 business days. Please see our delivery and returns page for more information.

Can you tell me about your packaging?

We pride ourselves living and working sustainably. All our products are packaged and boxed in recycled and biodegradable packaging. We may occasionally re-use any bubble wrap we may receive from suppliers as re-using is better than landfilling!

Are your products non-toxic for pets?

We have chosen all our seeds to be non-toxic to pets. However, we always encourage people to research themselves as new information may become available and can not take responsibility. The species names are listed on each product page.
